Accessibility statement

Policies and Management:

  1. Choral Art Society of the South Shore will reasonably accomodate individuals with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. Special arrangements will be made on an as-needed basis to ensure that this policy goal is met.
  2. Choral Art Society of the South Shore will not discriminate based on disability against individuals who desire to become members of its performing ensemble, Board of Directors, staff, volunteer force, or any subcommittees of these groups.
  3. Choral Art Society of the South Shore will update this posted ADA Plan periodically and provide information regarding accessibility accomodations in concert programs and outreach communications (e.g., email, social media posts).
  4. All accessibility concerns should be directed to the organization's president and sent to the chorus email choralartsociety@yahoo.com.

 

Programs, Activities, and Facilities:

  1. For concerts, rehearsals, and meetings, Choral Art Society of the South Shore will use spaces that are accessible and comfortable for people with physical disabilities. Physical accessbility shall include parking, entrance, seating, and restroom areas.
  2. Choral Art Society of the South Shore will educate its staff and concert volunteers on best practices for welcoming as well as providing hospitality and assistance to persons with disabilities, including those in wheelchairs, using walkers, or with other mobility concerns. 
  3. Choral Art Society of the South Shore shall provide stools or chairs for performers who are unable to stand for extended periods of time during performances. Members of Choral Art Society who require additional reasonable accomodations to perform with the Society shall be accommodated.
  4. Choral Art Society of the South Shore shall ensure that venues have a first aid kit available at self-sponsored performances and rehearsals.
